Jim Chaousis has been appointed Head Coach at Seacliff Tennis Club, effective from 1st April 2017.
Jim is a Club Professional Tennis Coach and has also been recognised by Tennis Australia for his results with junior players by being awarded Tennis Australia Talent Development status. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Fitness and is a certified Master Trainer which compliments his coaching qualifications.
Jim has been involved in tennis for 28 years and has represented both South Australia and Australia:
- Member of the 16/U National Team which competed in the United States
- Represented South Australia in the Rod Laver Cup
- Competed at the Australian Open Junior boys event
- Scholarship holder at the South Australian Institute of Sport
- Highest junior ranking of number 2 in Australia
Jim’s coaching experience ranges from teaching players in their first ever tennis lesson to coaching players on the WTA and ATP Tour. Jim has travelled and coached several professional tennis players including Russian female Galina Fokina, American junior Timothy Neilly and has travelled with Lleyton Hewitt as his personal assistant. He has had the fortune of coaching players at Wimbledon, the French Open and at the Australian Open.
Other coaching achievements:
- Selected as South Australia’s Super 10’s coach who became the first SA team to win the National Title
- State Team coach of 12/U & 14/U Boys and Girls teams
- Coached 12 players ranked inside the top 10 juniors in Australia with 6 of these players being number 1
- Coach of South Australia’s Flagstaff Freighters (winner of 4 consecutive State Titles and a National Title)
- Awarded Coaches Excellence Award for his outstanding achievements within the Asia Pacific Tennis League
